Part-Time Skilled Trades Lab Assistant, FWD Center

Monroe Community College is seeking a Part-Time Skilled Trades Lab Assistant for the FWD Center.

Job Description: The Skilled Trades Lab Assistant supports instructors in the Skilled Trades and Apprenticeship programs. Responsibilities include lab setup and maintenance, inventory management, instructor and student support, and proficiency in software like Microsoft Office Suite.

Examples of Duties & Responsibilities:

• Lab Setup and Maintenance: Assist with setup, maintenance, and submitting work orders.
• Inventory and Procurement: Manage materials and supplies, and communicate needs.
• Instructor and Student Support: Maintain attendance records, assist with exams, and support lab operations.
• Systems and Software Proficiency: Use Microsoft Office for documentation and communication.

Requirements:

• Required Qualifications: Associate's degree or equivalent, at least 2 years of relevant experience, strong organizational skills, communication skills, and OSHA 10 certification.
• Preferred Qualifications: 5S certification, OSHA 30, and bilingual proficiency.
• Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform tasks requiring bending and standing.

Additional Information: Salary range is $20.00 - $25.00 per hour. Work schedule is 20 hours per week, Monday-Thursday 3:30pm-8:30pm. The role is onsite and prohibits remote work outside New York State.
