Part-Time Student Worker - Transfer Center
Position Summary
The Advising & Counseling Services Department is recruiting for two part-time student workers to work in the Transfer Center. This position works to logistically support the Transfer Services Coordinator in the delivery of student-centered support services for the Transfer Center. This position assists in responding to student inquiries while fostering an environment of exceptional customer service as well as providing support for Signature Events and department activities.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist with performing office duties such as answering phones, processing of mail, and data entry.
- Assist with scheduling appointments for Transfer Center staff as needed.
- Triage student traffic and assist students with general questions related to the transfer process, support services and academic advising.
- Assist with preparation for Transfer Services events including transfer fairs, application drives, and hosting university recruiters on campus.
- Assist with sorting clothing donations and maintaining the career closet.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by the Advising & Counseling Director and Transfer Services Coordinator.
Qualifications
- Enrollment in a minimum of 6 credit hours in the Fall and Spring semester and 3 credit hours in the summer
- English proficiency
- Demonstrate proficient written and oral communication skills
- Friendly and professional attitude and good interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational skills and ability to establish and meet timelines
- Team player who is dependable, punctual, organized, and detail oriented
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle controls, key pads, etc. Will be required to sit and reach with hands and arms as well as, sit, stand and walk. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, some color vision, and the ability to adjust focus from documents to computer screen. Hearing of light to moderate sound is required by this job. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
