Job Summary

The University of North Georgia is accepting applications for a Part-Time Test Center Administrator. The Part-Time Test Center Administrator (TCA) will provide test administration and proctoring services for the University of North Georgia and National Testing Agencies including but not limited to: PearsonVue, CLEP, HESI, TEAS, eCore, Distance Learning, DSST, Accuplacer, and the Prometric Test Center (PTC) operated at the University of North Georgia (UNG) in Dahlonega. The TCA will provide assistance in other related areas of the Testing Center as needed. The TCA reports directly to the Coordinator of Testing in Gainesville. Must be available to work extended days, evenings, and some Saturdays.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily test administration duties for the UNG Gainesville Campus Test Center, Prometric Center (in Dahlonega), and National Testing Agencies adhering to strict test security and a variety of test administration procedures. Respond to all testing related inquiries by the Gainesville Campus Coordinator of Testing and outside agencies; assist with the development of the Gainesville and Prometric testing schedules to ensure adequate coverage; ensure security of test materials; verify identity of testing candidates; schedule testing appointments requested by phone and e-mail; score exams; enter scores into BANNER; and report scores to the Office of Admissions. Administer DSST, PearsonVue, CLEP, TEAS, HESI, ACCUPLACER, IDLs and other exams as needed, in-person and virtually.
  • Provides professional and friendly customer service to all candidates. Prepares computers and assists candidate from check-in to check-out. Proctor will assist closing testing lab after completion of exams and preparing the lab for the next day of testing. Provide answers to questions from callers and visitors related to a variety of tests and testing policies and maintains inventory of test materials and exhibits. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
  • Communicates with the Coordinator of Testing regarding IT related issues; ensures that computer related needs are kept current to prevent any interruption in the delivery of exams; and maintains an effective working relationship with examinees, professional associates, and colleagues.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of University and National Testing Agencies; maintain certification with test vendors as required for each campus testing center; and maintain current knowledge of non-compete and confidentiality requirements.
  • Must maintain a professional demeanor when dealing with customers from varied industries to include academic, corporate, government, financial, healthcare, and information technology.
  • Must be available to work extended days, evenings, and weekends.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Preferred knowledge of standard professional proctoring duties and office practices, procedures, systems and equipment. Must be able to obtain and retain knowledge of ADA and FERPA guidelines as they relate to individuals served through the UNG Test Center and Prometric Test Center. Working knowledge of most computer office software, including BANNER, Windows, Microsoft Office- Word and Excel. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills; excellent customer service and interpersonal skills; outstanding organizational and time management skills, excellent problem-solving skills; and superb phone etiquette. Must have ability to stay focused and detail oriented under surveillance. Work performance is monitored & evaluated by external clients/vendors by way of audio and video surveillance and "secret shoppers" posing as testing candidates. Failure to maintain contractual requirements could result in financial loss to the institution or termination of testing client contracts. Must have ability to organize and prioritize work requests to complete tasks in a timely manner with minimal supervision. Must be able to complete concurrent or multiple tasks independently and creatively in a timely manner and under pressure of deadlines; possess a strong commitment to the mission of the University. Must be able to remain customer friendly and maintain attention to details in the midst of frequent interruptions; must have the ability to work successfully as part of a team in a high-demand, fast-paced, detail-oriented environment. Must be able to learn and apply new technology as needed; must maintain confidentiality of candidate test records and personal information.

Required Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required. Must be able to obtain: Prometric Test Center Administrator Certification; FBI and IRS clearance for administration of Internal Revenue Service exams. Able to obtain additional TCA certification in the following areas within the first twelve (12) weeks of employment: PearsonVue, College Level Examination Program, DANTES Subject Standardized Test program, ETS Standard Testing Network Center, and others as required. Must be able to obtain and maintain active membership in Georgia College Testing Association and National College Testing Association. One (1) year of required experience in an office environment, retail environment, or customer service environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.

Proposed Salary

The proposed salary range for this position is: $18.34-$20.17 per hour.
