Job Description
The Patient Care Educator at Lincoln Memorial University-DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine (LMU-DCOM) CIPES is a key role responsible for providing comprehensive learning support to medical and other health professions students. This position involves a blend of instructional support, operational management, and administrative duties related to simulation-based and clinical skills education. The successful candidate will play a vital role in promoting the mission of Lincoln Memorial University by fostering effective working relationships with faculty, staff, and students.
Required Qualifications
Associates degree in nursing, science, communication, or other related field, or a current license in a health-related profession. Strong project management skills. Willingness to acquire and maintain certification as a BLS, ACLS, and/or PALS instructor.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelors or Masters degree in Public Health, Education, or Health-related field. Experience in a healthcare or healthcare education setting. Professional medical, simulation, and/or education credentialing. Up-to-date knowledge of medical, simulation, and education methodologies including hi-fidelity simulation manikins.

Job Duties
- Collaborate with faculty as needed to develop and evaluate educational cases, rubrics, and clinical encounters for various health professions.
- Monitor and grade student performance on patient encounters and interprofessional education (IPE) submissions
- Train and provide feedback to Standardized Patients (SPs) to ensure consistency and quality in educational activities
- Organize and conduct community outreach programs and provide faculty development sessions focused on simulation.
- Manage the daily operations of the Simulation Lab, Clinical Exam Center, and Clinical Skills Lab.
- Set up, break down, and assist with simulation exercises, Objective Structured Clinical Evaluations (OSCEs), and Standardized Patient Encounters (SPEs)
- Operate and maintain a wide range of simulation technologies, including hi-fidelity manikins, task trainers, and equipment
- Develop, evaluate, and manage simulation technologies to enhance learning experiences
- Create, maintain, and report on electronic surveys, forms, and logs for data collection
- Utilize clinical evaluation software to load and manage assessment rubrics
- Complete required institutional, program accreditation, and other reports necessary for the advancement of university programs
- Participate in university committees and work in compliance with state and federal codes, statutes, and regulations
- Strong computer and technology skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and other software.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, who can multitask effectively and manage multiple responsibilities concurrently
- Self-motivated, conscientious, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
