Job Description

UAB Callahan Eye is seeking a self-motivated individual for the Patient Encounter Specialist position in its Ambulatory Department. The successful candidate will assume various responsibilities in patient registration. This position may require working a rotating schedule and occasional travel to multiple locations.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for registering patients
• Monitoring referrals
• Collecting co-pays and scheduling appointments
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Requirements: High School Diploma or GED required. Position requires accuracy, thoroughness, and an understanding of insurance, copy and referral procedures. Skill in operating a computer, word processing software, fax machines, and copiers. Must be able to communicate effectively with public and others and maintain confidentiality.
