Your Role on the Team
Position Summary:
Reporting to the Capacity Manager, the Patient Transport Supervisor provides leadership, daily oversight, and operational coordination for the Lift and Transport Team, including training, evaluation, timekeeping, counseling, and corrective action. The supervisor functions as a working leader and actively participates with the team to assist direct patient care providers in proper patient handling. As part of clinical care operations, this role ensures optimal patient throughput by monitoring workflow, anticipating and mitigating transport delays, and prioritizing assignments to support efficient patient movement throughout the facility. The supervisor promotes a culture of safe patient handling that protects patients and fosters a secure, healthy work environment for all care providers.
What It Takes to be Successful
Required Qualifications:
- Understanding of basic medical terminology
- Skill to perform basic mathematical computations, and to use general office equipment including computers, copiers, and calculators
- Must possess the skill, knowledge, and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
- Must be proficient in Epic transport systems
- Must be available to work overtime as patient care needs demand
- Must be able to read, write and speak effectively in English
- Minimum one year experience in a healthcare environment or training in a healthcare/emergency/rescue field
- Demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively in a therapeutic way
- Current BLS certification required by time of hire
- Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
- Ability to float between Orange and Irvine campuses.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous supervisory experience
