Compliance, Controls & Risk Management: Ensure compliance
with Federal, State, and University payroll regulations, including
FLSA, IRS limits, ACA, CCPA, PEBA, and garnishment requirements.
Monitor and ensure retirement contributions, supplemental
deductions, and garnishments are withheld correctly and do not
exceed regulatory limits.
Benefits, Deductions & Reporting: Enter, track, and
maintain voluntary payroll deductions. Calculate and manage benefit
deductions, including initial, final, and adjusted benefit amounts
for biweekly payroll.
Systems, Records & Documentation: Manage onboarding tax
forms through the onboarding and paperless systems into payroll.
Create and maintain the annual payroll processing calendar,
including relevant deadlines and system updates.
Customer Service & Campus Support: Serve as the primary
point of contact for payroll inquiries from faculty, staff,
students, and external parties.

full-time position with benefits.
SC State Pay Grade: GEN08 . Salary range: $45,300.00
(minimum) – $61,100.00. Normal work hours are Monday through
Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Friday 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings,
weekends and holidays. Must be flexible to meet the special
scheduling needs of the university.

Required Qualifications
High school diploma and professional experience in related area
such as accounting, auditing, finance or commercial lending.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in higher education payroll. Experience serving as a
payroll lead or senior payroll role. Experience with payroll system
implementations or upgrades.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
High attention to detail and accuracy. Strong organizational,
analytical, and problem-solving skills. Strong customer service and
communication skills. Familiarity with PEBA, ACA reporting, and
audit support. Ability to handle confidential information with
discretion. Knowledge of payroll regulations, policies and
procedures. High use of excel. Ability to build working
relationships.
