About the role

Applications are invited for two Postdoctoral Research Associate positions in Chemical Biology to work under the supervision of Professor Yimon Aye for a period of up to 24 months. The project involves the combination of the use of cultured cells and vertebrate animals in particular zebrafish to understand newly-uncovered reactive metabolite signalling pathways of importance in well-defined disease states and is funded by ERC.

About you

Applicants must hold a PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Biology or a relevant subject area, (or be close to completion) prior to taking up the appointment. The research requires experience in interdisciplinary research, including small-molecule chemistry, biochemistry, cell-based and model organism.

You will be expected to manage your own academic research and administrative activities. This involves small scale project management, to co-ordinate multiple aspects of work to meet deadlines.

The post will be based in the Department of Chemistry, Chemistry Research Laboratory, 12 Mansfield Road, Oxford, OX1 3TA and Rodney Porter Building, Sibthorp Road, off South Parks Road, Oxford, OX1 3QU, and is available as soon as possible.
