Pediatric Cardiology Electrophysiologist

The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health is recruiting a Pediatric Cardiology Electrophysiologist to join our growing team. We are looking for candidates with a track record of clinical excellence and academic contributions as demonstrated through training and/or practice experience.

This position is full or part-time, 50%-100%. This position requires work to be completed onsite, at a designated campus work location. Contact with vulnerable populations that are non-minors: This position has been identified as a position of trust with access to vulnerable populations. The selected candidate will be required to pass an initial caregiver check to be eligible for employment under the Wisconsin Caregiver Law and every four years.

Applicants for this position will be considered for the titles: Clinical Professor, Clinical Associate Professor, Clinical Assistant Professor, Professor (CHS), Associate Professor (CHS), or Assistant Professor (CHS). The title is determined by the experience and qualifications of the finalist.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Physicians hired on the Clinical Health Sciences (CHS) track will participate in administrative and committee work to support the clinical and scholarly missions of UW Health and the School of Medicine and Public Health. An essential part of these duties will be working in a collegial relationship with other faculty members.
  • Participate in clinical teaching of fellows, residents, and medical students, and support the teaching and clinical research missions of the division and department.
  • Clinical expectations include providing patient care at American Family Children’s Hospital and participating in outreach locations. Clinical Responsibilities include coverage of the ambulatory and inpatient pediatrics electrophysiology services, interpretation of ambulatory diagnostics and monitors (ECG, Holter, Event monitors, loop recorders), and performance of electrophysiology studies, ablations, and pacemaker implantation.

Department: School of Medicine and Public Health, Department of Pediatrics, Division of Cardiology, Pediatric Cardiology Electrophysiology. The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health is a vibrant academic department comprising more than 200 faculty members in 16 subspecialty divisions. Members of the Division of Cardiology strive to maintain excellence in clinical care, education, and research. The division recognizes that excellence in pediatric cardiovascular medicine and surgery requires a well-coordinated team approach to care.

Community: Madison is ranked highly in various quality-of-life categories and is the second largest city in the state with a population of approximately 280,000.

Compensation: Negotiable, 12 month. Employees in this position can expect to receive benefits such as generous vacation, holidays, and sick leave; competitive insurances and savings accounts; retirement benefits.

Required Qualifications:

  • Board certification or board eligibility in Pediatrics and Pediatric Cardiology through the American Board of Pediatrics is required by the appointment start date.
  • Completion of an accredited fellowship program in Pediatric Cardiology with a 4th year in Electrophysiology is required.
  • Completion of an ACGME-approved pediatric residency program is required.
  • The candidate is required to have a Wisconsin medical license by the appointment start date.
  • Must be eligible for enrollment as a billing provider and for all necessary hospital privileges by the appointment start date.

Preferred Qualifications: For an appointment at Associate Professor or Professor rank on the CHS or CT Track, candidates will meet criteria established by the department and as outlined in the School of Medicine and Public Health guidelines.

Education: MD, DO, or equivalent is required.
