Mission or Goal of Unit: The Pediatric Nephrology Division at Children’s Hospital of Richmond at Virginia Commonwealth University is an academic unit devoted to excellence in clinical care, teaching, and clinical, translational, and basic research. Eighty to ninety percent of our patient volume is outpatient. The division’s primary goal is to provide rapid access to care, maintain the current high standards of service, and reduce usage of high acuity services (ED, PICU, etc) when possible. While achieving these goals, additional related endeavors include teaching, research, and quality improvement/assurance projects.

Chief Purpose of this Position in Support of Above Mission or Goal: The Division of Pediatric Nephrology at the Children’s Hospital of Richmond at Virginia Commonwealth University (CHoR at VCU) is seeking a dedicated physician to join our thriving academic program and contribute to our clinical, teaching, and research missions. This full‑time faculty member will provide a balanced mix of direct patient care, clinical administrative responsibilities, and quality improvement/assurance activities. The role also includes active participation in didactic and bedside teaching for medical students, residents, and fellows, as well as the pursuit of an individualized academic plan that may encompass research, scholarly work, or other contributions aligned with divisional and personal goals. The Division is supported by a robust team of clinical faculty, advanced practice providers, nurse coordinators, and nurse navigators, creating a highly collaborative environment for delivering exceptional pediatric nephrology care.

Responsibilities:
  • Clinical: Faculty member will serve as a leader and in the Department of Pediatric Nephrology for the Department of Pediatrics. Will work weekends and take call as necessary.
