Pediatric Stem Cell Transplant and Cellular Therapy Physician

The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health is recruiting a Pediatric Stem Cell Transplant and Cellular Therapy Physician to join our growing team. We are looking for candidates with a track record of clinical excellence and academic contributions as demonstrated through training and/or practice experience.

This position is full or part-time, 50%-100%. This position requires work to be completed onsite, at a designated campus work location. Contact with vulnerable populations that are non-minors: This position has been identified as a position of trust with access to vulnerable populations. The selected candidate will be required to pass an initial caregiver check to be eligible for employment under the Wisconsin Caregiver Law and every four years. Applicants for this position will be considered for the titles: Clinical Professor, Clinical Associate Professor, Clinical Assistant Professor, Professor (CHS), Associate Professor (CHS), or Assistant Professor (CHS). The title is determined by the experience and qualifications of the finalist.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Clinical expectations include providing clinical care at American Family Children's Hospital for pediatric patients with hematologic and oncologic conditions, with a focus on stem cell transplantation and cellular therapies.
  • Participate in clinical teaching of fellows, residents and medical students, and support the teaching and clinical research missions of the division and department.
  • Physicians hired on the Clinical Health Sciences (CHS) track will participate in administrative and committee work to support the clinical and scholarly missions of UW Health and the School of Medicine and Public Health. An essential part of these duties will be working in a collegial relationship with other faculty members.

School of Medicine and Public Health, Department of Pediatrics, Division of Hematology, Oncology, Transplant & Cellular Therapy, Pediatric Stem Cell Transplant and Cellular Therapy. The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health is a vibrant academic department comprising more than 200 faculty members in 16 subspecialty divisions. The department promotes and enhances the health of children through outstanding clinical care, exemplary education of pediatric trainees, performance of cutting-edge research, and vigorous advocacy. The Division of Pediatric Hematology, Oncology, Transplant & Cellular Therapy provides innovative, comprehensive, and compassionate family-centered clinical care to infants, children, adolescents, and young adults with primary hematologic or oncologic disorders. Division members believe excellence in clinical care is dependent upon research and teaching, and they embrace their complete integration through all aspects of this program.

Required Qualifications:

  • Board certification or board eligibility in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology through the American Board of Pediatrics, is required by the appointment start date.
  • Completion of an accredited fellowship program in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology is required by the appointment start date.
  • Completion of an ACGME-approved pediatric residency program is required.
  • The candidate is required to have a Wisconsin medical license by the appointment start date.
  • Must be eligible for enrollment as a billing provider and for all necessary hospital privileges by the appointment start date.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Additional time and/or experience in clinical stem cell transplant and/or cellular therapy fellowship is preferred by the appointment start date.
  • ASSOCIATE AND PROFESSOR CHS or CT RANK: For an appointment at Associate Professor or Professor rank on the CHS or CT Track, candidates will meet criteria established by the department and as outlined in the School of Medicine and Public Health guidelines for promotion or appointment to Associate or Professor on the CHS or CT Track.

Education: MD, DO, or equivalent is required.
