Penn Medicine Clinician (Department of Pediatrics)

Job Description Summary: Provides health care services on a full-time or part-time basis in an owned or affiliated health care entity of Penn Medicine or The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. Provides inpatient hospital services as required and fulfills all medico-administrative duties associated with membership on each hospital medical staff. May participate in a minimum of 50 hours per year of active and high quality teaching or equivalent service. Performs prompt, courteous and competent professional services in accordance with generally accepted professional standards. Maintains license to practice medicine without restriction or limitation in Pennsylvania or location of affiliates, if applicable.
Attending physician with strong clinical experience, who will care for patients at CHOP Philadelphia campus. Must participate in 50 hours per year of active and high-quality teaching to medical students, residents, and fellows.
Responsibilities:
- Provide outpatient care to sick and well patients at CHOP Philadelphia campus and perform procedures at CHOP Philadelphia campus (90% estimated time)
- Participate in educational activities and case discussions (5% estimated time)
- Perform other duties as assigned (5% estimated time)
Qualifications: M.D.; License to practice medicine without restriction or limitation in Pennsylvania; DEA Licensure. 0-1 year of work experience of related experience in a specified medical field. Candidates must hold an MD, DO or equivalent, be board certified or eligible in Pediatric Gastroenterology and be licensed or eligible for licensure in Pennsylvania.
Working Conditions: Office, Library Computer Room; Requires extensive safety training; Requires protective devices.
Physical Effort: Occasional lifting 24-50 lb.; Typically standing or walking; Intermittently sitting/standing/stooping; Using tools requiring high density; Typically bending, crouching, Stooping.
