Join a collaborative and forward-thinking IT and Digital Services team supporting UniSQ’s HR systems. This role is central to ensuring UniSQ’s PeopleSoft environment and associated HR systems are reliable, efficient, and continuously improving. Proficiency in the PeopleSoft system is essential.

Working within ITDS, you’ll partner closely with HR stakeholders and functional specialists to translate requirements into effective PeopleSoft system solutions, improve data quality and enhance the employee experience. Your work will support operational excellence, informed decision-making, and the successful delivery of key digital and organisational initiatives.

This is a great opportunity to contribute to meaningful digital transformation initiatives while working in a supportive environment that values innovation, expertise, and continuous improvement.

Who you are

You’re a curious and solutions-focused systems analyst who enjoys turning complex business needs into practical, high-quality system outcomes. You bring a strong understanding of HR systems—especially PeopleSoft HCM—and thrive in environments where collaboration with both functional specialists, technical teams and business stakeholders is key.

You’re detail-oriented and analytical, with a natural ability to map processes, identify gaps, and deliver improvements that make a real impact. Comfortable managing competing priorities, you take a proactive approach to problem-solving and are confident contributing to testing, documentation, and system enhancements.

You communicate clearly, build trusted relationships, and take pride in delivering reliable, user-focused solutions. Most importantly, you’re motivated by continuous improvement and enjoy being part of a team that values innovation, knowledge sharing, and delivering meaningful outcomes.

What you'll do

This is an opportunity to highlight your current PeopleSoft experience, grow your expertise in other enterprise HR systems and contribute to impactful digital initiatives to support the University’s future growth.

In this role, you’ll play a key part in keeping UniSQ’s HR systems running smoothly while driving meaningful improvements across the PeopleSoft environment. Working closely with HR stakeholders and functional teams, you’ll translate business needs into effective system solutions that enhance processes, data quality, and user experience.

Day to day, you’ll analyse requirements, map processes, support system enhancements, and lead testing and documentation activities. You’ll act as a trusted link between business and technology, ensuring solutions are fit-for-purpose, well understood, and successfully delivered.

In your first 6-12 months, you’ll build strong relationships across HR and IT, gain a deep understanding of the current system landscape, and contribute to key enhancements and continuous improvement initiatives. Your work will help strengthen system reliability, streamline workforce processes, and support better decision-making through quality data and insights.

What will help you succeed

To thrive in this role, it is crucial that you bring a highly developed practical knowledge of the PeopleSoft system to provide seamless functional expertise and analytical thinking and deliver practical, user-focused system solutions. You will need:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification and subsequent experience or equivalent experience in IT, business systems analysis, or HR systems.
  • High-level experience supporting and enhancing enterprise systems, especially PeopleSoft systems
  • Demonstrated experience analysing business needs and translating them into functional requirements within a complex environment.
  • Strong skills in process mapping, gap analysis, testing, and documentation.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes within timeframes.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships.
  • A proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and problem-solving.

Your ability to connect business needs with functional solutions, combined with a collaborative and outcomes-focused approach, will see you make a strong impact in this role.
