The Arc Carroll County is hiring compassionate and dependable Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide one-on-one personal supports to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Schedule:
- Urgently hiring for Thursday evenings 3:00PM-8:00PM
Other available shifts-
- Monday-Friday evenings with a 2:00 or 3:00 PM start time - 7:00/8:00PM
- Limited Day time hours are available: Monday-Friday
- Limited Weekend hours
What You’ll Do:
- Provide one-on-one community-based or in-home support
- Provide transportation and support community access
- Create and implement innovative, fun, and meaningful activities tailored to each individual’s interests, goals, and abilities
- Support individuals individually and independently, encouraging choice, creativity, and self-direction through social, recreational, and educational activities
- Encourage independence and decision-making
- Assist with personal care and mobility as needed
- Document services and progress in iCare
- Follow person-centered plans, policies, and state regulations
Pay & Benefits:
- $19.68/hour (Maryland Equal Pay compliant)

Requirements
- <ul><li>18+ years old</li><li>High school diploma or GED</li><li>Valid U.S. driver’s license that has never been suspended or revoked</li><li>Ability to pass background, drug, and driving record checks</li><li>Basic computer and keyboarding skills</li><li>Ability to complete required training courses, including CPR, First Aid, Med Tech Certification, and other DDA-mandated training</li><li>Ability to lift and manipulate up to 50 lbs frequently and assist with transfers</li><li>Ability to stand for extended periods and perform frequent bending, stooping, reaching, pulling, and pushing</li><li>Ability to assist with wheelchair handling, transfers, and securing individuals safely in vehicles</li></ul>
