Description of the Thesis Topic
Context:
This thesis is part of the European CoEC4ET project, a European center of excellence aimed at developing exascale simulation technologies for combustion and contributing to the energy transition. It focuses on the development of methods enabling high-performance reactive multiphysics simulations on GPU architectures.
Objectives:
- Develop YALES2’s reactive multiphysics simulation capabilities on CPU-GPU architectures by integrating ChemInt (BSC) for chemistry, CWIPI (ONERA) for multiphysics coupling, and a Python/PyTorch interface.
- This work will include the reduction of chemical mechanisms through clustering, in collaboration with the BSC, as well as the structuring, documentation, and profiling of software interfaces.
Expected results:
New frameworks for reactive computations on GPUs, portable exascale software components and validations on European supercomputers. These activities will result in international scientific publications.
Work Context
The Ph.D. student will join CORIA’s YALES2 team (https://pages.coria-cfd.fr/yales2public/yales2public/) as part of the EuroHPC CoEC4ET project, collaborating closely with BSC, ONERA, CERFACS, and several European partners.
