The Pharmacist plays a vital role in ensuring the safe and effective use of medications. This role is responsible for accurately preparing and dispensing prescriptions, reviewing provider orders for potential drug interactions or therapeutic concerns, and educating patients on proper medication use and adherence. Working collaboratively with healthcare teams, the pharmacist will help optimize treatment plans and provides expert guidance on drug-related matters. In addition to clinical responsibilities, this role supports pharmacy operations through inventory management, insurance claim processing, and delivering exceptional customer service.

Day to Day Responsibilities:

• Accurately dispenses prescription medications to patients by reviewing prescriptions for quality, potency, and potential drug interactions, and verifying details using internal safety controls. Reviews patient drug profiles and utilization patterns to identify and act on any concerns.
• Provides patient counseling on medication use, side effects, interactions, contraindications, generics, and over-the-counter products to promote safe and effective medication use.
• Serve as a collaborative partner to the Pharmacy Director, gradually assuming select administrative responsibilities to support the overall efficiency of the department.
• Processes insurance claims accurately to avoid rejections, resolve patient concerns, and comply with Pharmacy Benefit Manager (PBM) requirements.
