Required License/Registration/Certification: Nationally certified Pharmacy Technician by either PTCB (PTCE) or NHA (ExCPT); Registered with the Kentucky Board of Pharmacy within 30 days of hire.

Physical Requirements: This position requires use of a computer workstation, completion of tasks with repetitive motions, and occasional pushing, pulling, and/or lifting objects weighing up to 50 pounds. This position may require personnel to wear personal protective equipment to reduce risk of exposure to work-related hazards (e.g. handling of hazardous medications).

Shift: Must be available to work during the hours of 7a-9pm Monday thru Friday and 730am-6pm on Sat/Sun. Hours, shifts, and days of week of operation are subject to change based on needs of the business and work in a different location with possible varying shift as needed during the school year. May be required to work on some holidays which currently are being rotated by all Ambulatory Pharmacy Services staff. Position may work a rotating schedule during the hours of operation which equates to a 40 hour work.

Job Summary: This position will assist pharmacists with medicine preparation and distribution in retail pharmacy sites operating under University of Kentucky Pharmacy Services. Primary duties include filling and distributing prescriptions in a busy retail-based setting and providing exceptional customer service to pharmacy customers and patients. The successful Senior Technician will be reliable, punctual, works well within a team, and possesses exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. Pharmacy Senior Technicians for Ambulatory Pharmacy Services will play an integral role in ensuring overall customer satisfaction and that a positive patient experience are achieved for all retail pharmacy patrons. The ability and desire to work and grow in a fast-paced, complex, and ever-changing field within a dynamic and cutting-edge pharmacy is essential for individuals in this position. This position is eligible for a recruitment bonus. Additional details will be provided during the hiring process should your application be selected to move forward. The starting pay for this position was recently adjusted. The minimum hourly rate for this position will now be $18.50/hour. All pay rates will be based on candidate’s experience.

Preferred Education/Experience: Associate or bachelor’s degree and hospital and/or retail pharmacy technician experience preferred
