Position Summary:

The Pharmacy Tech/Cashier will support the pharmacist in labeling and filling prescriptions, assisting patients with dropping off and picking up medications, and entering orders into the pharmacy computer system for review. This role includes verifying prescriptions, handling cashier operations such as processing cash, credit, and check payments, refunds, and financial reporting. The Pharmacy Tech/Cashier will assist with inventory control by receiving, storing, ordering, and distributing medications and supplies, as well as managing expired or discontinued products with proper documentation as well as providing excellent customer service while ensuring compliance with confidentiality standards and pharmacy regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist the pharmacist in labeling, filling, and verifying prescriptions.
Provide customer service by assisting patients with dropping off and picking up prescriptions.
Enter medication orders into the pharmacy computer system for pharmacist review.
Verify that patients receive the correct prescriptions.
Perform cashier duties, including processing credit cards, cash, and check transactions.
Assist with receipt, storage, distribution, and ordering of pharmacy supplies and retail products.
Screen calls and triage information requests for the pharmacist.
Work with insurance carriers to secure payment and resolve billing issues.
Prepare and maintain medication inventory records.
