"PhD admission for Intelligent planning of Prosumer Microgrid (PMG) Load Management in Smart Cities for Optimal Energy Consumption"

Applications are invited from suitable candidates for PhD admission to work on the following project sponsored under ASCRIN Scheme, under the supervision of Prof. Alivelu M Parimi/Prof. Hitesh Mathur from the Department of EEE, BITS-Pilani, Hyderabad campus and Pilani Campus in collaboration with Prof. Abdun Mahmood, and Prof. Naveen Chilamkurti from La Trobe University, Australia.

Title of the project: “Intelligent planning of Prosumer Microgrid (PMG) Load Management in Smart Cities for Optimal Energy Consumption”

Duration of the project: 4 years. The student would be spending three years at BITS Pilani Hyderabad campus and one year at La Trobe University, Australia in the PhD tenure.

Fellowship amount: Rs. 31000 per month for three years from BITS Pilani, and AUD 28,092 p.a from La Trobe University

Eligibility requirement: ME/ MTech or equivalent with 70% marks or 7 CGPA

Essential Qualifications: First class in B.E/B.Tech in EEE or allied disciplines and First class or equivalent in M.E/MTech with GATE Qualification.

Desirable qualifications: Experience in implementing AI Techniques will be an added advantage. The student would be working in planning, design, and operation of the Prosumer Microgrid (PMG), and optimization of energy consumption and its cost when multiple prosumers are involved at distribution level Microgrids. This would be achieved using real-time data analytics by developing Intelligent and Adaptive Monitoring and Prediction systems for the Load and Generation, taking into account the available generation from Renewable Energy Sources (RES) in PMG-based smart cities.

Please note that only qualified and suitable candidates will be called for an interview which will be held online at BITS-Pilani, Hyderabad Campus by July 12th, 2021. The selected candidate should register for Ph.D. programme of BITS, Pilani, subject to the fulfillment of the requirements of the BITS Pilani and LA Trobe.

The project investigator will not be responsible for any miss communication/connectivity issues during the online interview session. The schedule of such sessions once decided will not be changed.
