Job Summary: Lifelong VISION is a gravity program funded by the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science, running from 2024 to 2033. It focuses on developing groundbreaking treatment strategies for eye diseases, including age-related macular degeneration (LMD). Research at Erasmus MC aims to create patient profiles to predict the course of LMD more accurately, enabling targeted and effective therapies.

Responsibilities:

• Develop patient profiles using large datasets from over 20,000 individuals, including clinical patients and population studies across Europe.
• Analyze datasets containing eye imaging and multi-omics data (e.g., proteomics, genomics, microbiomics) using AI models and advanced statistical methods to create a predictive model.
• Contribute to data collection from participants in the ERGO population study.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Master's degree in exact sciences or life sciences, such as Data Sciences/AI, (Bio-)informatics, Medicine, or a related field.
• Excellent proficiency in both Dutch and English, spoken and written.
• Experience with programming and affinity with medical scientific research.
• Demonstrable interest in analyzing large datasets, strong organizational skills, ability to maintain overview, excellent presentation skills, and ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.

What the Employer Offers:

• A contract for 12 months, extendable to 3.5-4 years total upon good performance.
• Gross monthly salary between €3,598 and €5,669 (scale 10) for a full-time workweek of 36 hours.
