PhD Candidate in Private Law
Job Summary: The position is for a PhD candidate in private law at the Faculty of Law, University of Amsterdam. The role involves conducting innovative PhD research within the Integral Private Law research program, focusing on themes such as collectivization, intersections in private law, inequality and historical injustice, and sustainability. The research is embedded in the Amsterdam Centre for Transformative Private Law (ACT).
Responsibilities: Complete a PhD thesis over four years; participate in ACT and its research community; engage in limited teaching duties; develop PhD research with academic supervision; attend conferences and workshops with provided funding.
Qualifications and Requirements: A completed Master's degree in law, preferably in private law; excellent academic results; proficiency in Dutch and English; strong communication skills; ability to work independently and in a team; passion for private law research; a second degree or Master's is advantageous.
What the Employer Offers: A temporary four-year appointment with assessment after one year; salary ranging from €3,059 to €3,881 gross per month based on full-time work (38 hours per week); additional benefits including 8% vacation pay and 8.3% end-of-year bonus; access to university support programs.
