Candidate profile

Applicants should be eligible for admission to a PhD programme at the University of Barcelona (typically requiring a Master's degree or an equivalent qualification).

Desirable qualifications:

• Laboratory experience in molecular biology, cell culture and/or animal experimentation.
• Good written and spoken English.
• Motivation for biomedical research and teamwork.
• Certification for laboratory animal experimentation according to applicable regulations, or willingness to obtain the required certification before participating in animal procedures.

Funding

Candidates must comply with the Predoctoral Fellowships eligibility criteria set by PREDOC-UB 2026 or FI-AGAUR Joan Oró 2026 or FI-SDUR 2026 (including UB-specific criteria for FI Joan Oró and FI-SDUR calls). These are competitive predoctoral fellowships funded by UB and the Catalan Government. The research team will actively support the selected candidate in preparing fellowship applications.
