About the Project
Our Research Unit on Preventive Medicine and Biostatistics at the Universitat Rovira i Virgili (URV) is seeking highly motivated PhD candidates with a strong scientific vocation and a genuine interest in nutritional epidemiology and reproductive health to join our team.
We offer an interdisciplinary research environment with several active projects in reproductive health. The candidate will apply to the competitive Martí i Franquès predoctoral research programme.
The successful candidate is expected:
- To participate in the field work of ongoing reproduction and early life projects in our group.
- Recruiting child, adolescent and adult participants and conducting developmental tests as well as anthropometrical and physiological measurements during the health checkup.
- Blood & biological sample processing, biobanking and analysis (including biochemical, genetic and epigenetic determinations among others).
- Literature search.
- Data analysis and reporting.
The successful candidate:
- Must have excellent English.
- Should have a minimum average total score of ≥ 7 in an undergraduate degree from a biomedical or bioinformatics discipline (preferably, but not necessarily, psychology).
- Must have a Master’s degree in a biomedical or bioinformatics discipline or be due to complete it by June 2026.
- Will be required to certify that they have no criminal record of sex-related crimes
- The project will be carried out in the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (in Reus) of the Universitat Rovira i Virgili.
