Offer Description
You will develop AI methods for quantum information systems in the BIASlab, Department of Electrical Engineering, under supervision of Dr. Ivana Nikoloska.
Information
In this PhD position, you will develop advanced AI methods for quantum information systems. The work sits at the boundary of machine learning and quantum computation, addressing how quantum devices can remain robust and reliable when operating under real-world noise conditions.
What you'll contribute to
This PhD contributes to AI methods for quantum systems, laying scientific groundwork for making these systems more reliable and usable at scale.
Your research environment
You will join BIASlab, a research group in the Department of Electrical Engineering, under the supervision of Dr. Ivana Nikoloska. Dr. Nikoloska is also affiliated with the Casimir Institute.
What we're looking for
A Master's degree (or near-completion) in electrical engineering, computer science, or a related field, with a solid foundation in machine learning and/or quantum information theory.

- A research-oriented attitude.
- Ability to work in an interdisciplinary team.
- Motivated to develop your teaching skills and coach students.
- Fluent in spoken and written English (C1 level).

- Full-time employment for four years, with an intermediate assessment after nine months. You will spend a minimum of 10% of your four-year employment on teaching tasks, with a maximum of 15% per year of your employment.

- In addition to your base salary, you will receive an 8% holiday allowance and an 8.3% year-end bonus, both calculated based on your annual gross base salary.
