Overview
The aim of this Bioengineering programme from The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology is to provide students with the necessary knowledge to contribute to the biomedical industry as well as to optimize existing bioprocesses, and to develop new biomedical technologies. The Programmes are managed by the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering.
A candidate for a PhD degree is expected to achieve mastery of their discipline, generate new knowledge, and make an original, substantial scholarly contribution.
Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) Programme in Bioengineering from The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, graduates will be able to:

- Synthesize and create new knowledge.
- Making an original and substantial contribution to the discipline.
