Project Overview: Post-Quantum Cryptography and its Applications
This PhD project will investigate post-quantum cryptography and its applications. It focuses on post-quantum cryptography, including but not limited to theoretical proof frameworks and practical applications such as secure communication and authentication.
You will:
- Study existing challenges in the migration to PQC, especially regarding password- or biometrics-based key exchange, authentication.
- Understand existing theoretical proof frameworks for PQC.
- Propose new efficient PQC protocols and or privacy-enhancing technologies.
- Engage with Internet standardisation forums (e.g., IETF).
PhD Candidate Profile
We welcome applicants with:
- A first-class or upper-second-class undergraduate degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Mathematics, or related disciplines.
- Background in cryptography or secure systems.
- Strong motivation to work on impactful, standards-driven research.
- Strong analytical skills
- Excellent programming skills
