Overview
This programme emphasizes training in Industrial Engineering and Decision Analytics from The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology original thinking and independent research. Students can design their programme of study to suit their interests and needs.
The programme should cover a specialized area in industrial engineering and at least one minor area. Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of the PhD in Industrial Engineering and Decision Analytics from The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, graduates will be able to:

- Identify issues related to a theoretical problem or a practical application.
- Formulate an original research project that addresses some of the significant issues.
- Independently create an effective solution to the problems and to design and use the computer/IT tools to solve problems in industrial engineering and decision analytics.
- Apply knowledge of mathematics, science, and engineering to problems in industrial engineering and decision analytics.
- Use the techniques, skills, and modern engineering tools necessary for solving data driven decision-making problems.

- Applicants seeking admission to a master's degree program should have obtained a bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution, or an approved equivalent qualification;
- Applicants seeking admission to a doctoral degree program should have obtained a bachelor’s degree with a proven record of outstanding performance from a recognized institution; or presented evidence of satisfactory work at the postgraduate level on a full-time basis for at least one year, or on a part-time basis for at least two years.
