Job Summary
This project aims to develop Visual Analytics techniques for event sequence exploration and analysis, focusing on the synergy between Visualization and Process Mining to transform the analysis and visualization of complex processes.
The research involves extracting insights from event logs to optimize business processes, incorporating dimensions like time, spatial distribution, and resource relationships, while addressing the limitations of traditional process mining by integrating visual analytics for better interpretation and communication.
Responsibilities
Research and develop Visual Analytics techniques for multi-faceted process data, explore synergies between visualization and process mining, create interactive tools for data exploration, and contribute to a unified framework for analyzing complex processes.
Qualifications and Requirements
Candidates should be enthusiastic about research in Visual Analytics, Event Sequence Visualization, and Process Mining. A strong background in Visualization or Visual Analytics is required, preferably with a master’s degree in Computer Science, (Applied) Mathematics, or Electrical Engineering. Expertise in Process Mining or Event Visualization is a plus. Strong programming skills in object-oriented GUI languages like Qt/C++, Java, or Python are necessary. Good communication skills, ability to work in a multidisciplinary team, creativity, critical thinking, analytical skills, hard work, persistence, and a good command of English are essential.
What the Employer Offers
A four-year fixed-term contract with full-time employment, including 10% teaching tasks. Salary ranges from €3,059 to €3,881 per month, based on the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities, scale P. Additional benefits include a year-end bonus of 8.3%, annual vacation pay of 8%, high-quality training programs, excellent technical infrastructure, on-campus children’s day care, sports facilities, commuting and internet allowances, a pension scheme, paid pregnancy and maternity leave, partially paid parental leave, and a tax compensation scheme for international candidates.
