"PhD Position: Horizontal Collaboration in Smart Logistics"

Job Summary: The Center for Marketing & Supply Chain Management at Nyenrode Business University offers a fully-funded, four-year PhD project on horizontal collaboration in smart logistics, part of the "future-proof smart logistics" program led by TNO. The project involves a systematic literature review, expert interviews, developing a scalable business model, and validation using agent-based simulation and system dynamics modeling. The research aims to publish in peer-reviewed journals and culminate in an English-written dissertation. Teaching commitment will not exceed 20% of the appointment.

Responsibilities: Conduct empirical and analytical research, including literature reviews, expert interviews, business model development, and model validation. Collaborate with TNO and contribute to scientific publications.

Qualifications and Requirements: A Master’s degree in computer science, econometrics, industrial engineering, business administration, or a related discipline. Thorough knowledge of supply chain management and logistics. Experience with simulation and programming tools (e.g., AnyLogic, Vensim). Strong analytical skills in quantitative and qualitative methods. Collaborative mindset for multidisciplinary teams and excellent English communication skills.

What the Employer Offers: Gross monthly salary ranging from €3,095 to €4,096 based on experience, 30 days of paid leave (with option to purchase 5 extra days), end-of-year allowance (fixed 5.1% plus up to 4.5% variable), home-office support including €850 setup allowance, monthly internet and remote-working reimbursements, travel allowance, pension scheme through ABP, and a bicycle scheme.
