CRC/SFB 1739 | Institute for Molecular Cardiovascular Research, University Hospital RWTH Aachen (external co-supervision: University Hospital Jena)
As part of our recently announced call for 11 PhD positions within CRC/SFB 1739, we're highlighting a project unraveling the role of innate immune activation in the crosstalk between hyperlipidemic metabolic alterations, atherosclerosis, and periodontal remodelling/periodontitis, supervised by Dr. Heidi Noels, with external co-supervision by Prof. Dr. Ulrike Schulze-Späte (Jena).
You will combine patient sample analyses with in vitro studies (primary cell/cell line culture, molecular biology tools, metabolomics, RNAseq) and animal models of atherosclerosis and ligation-induced periodontal remodeling.
Looking for: MSc in Life Sciences, Biomedicine, or related field (e.g. Biotechnology, Molecular Medicine, Biology, Biochemistry). Cell culture experience required; interest in animal models of atherosclerosis (FELASA certificate a plus).
