Located in downtown Toronto, the largest and most culturally diverse city in Canada and on the territory of the Anishinaabeg, Haudenosaunee and the Wendat Peoples, the Department/School of Human Resource Management and Organizational Behaviour in the Ted Rogers School of Management invites applications for a Limited-term (one year) faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor, effective July 1, 2026, subject to final budgetary approval.

The successful candidates will engage only in teaching at the undergraduate level and service duties of faculty members in the School, while maintaining an inclusive, equitable, and collegial work environment across such activities.

Applicants must hold a PhD in Human Resource Management, Organizational Behaviour, or a closely related field. Candidates who are all-but-dissertation (ABD) and very close to completion may also be considered.

Required Qualifications

The successful candidate must present evidence of:

  • Capacity and potential for teaching excellence at all levels of the undergraduate curriculum in HRM and/or OB, as evidenced in a teaching dossier that includes:
    • A teaching philosophy statement
    • Experience with course and curriculum review and/or development
    • Examples of best practices in pedagogy, including effective use of classroom technology and any experience with experiential learning
    • Sample syllabi
    • Strong teaching evaluations
    • Teaching awards
    • Other relevant achievements in teaching
  • Commitment to Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) as it pertains to teaching and service activities, including the ability to make learning accessible and inclusive for a diverse student population.
  • Ability and willingness to contribute to the life of the HR/OB department and the University through collegial service.

The committee recognizes that scholars have varying career paths and that career interruptions can be part of an excellent academic record. Candidates are encouraged to provide any relevant information about their experience and/or career interruptions.

Note: Limited Term Faculty appointments at Toronto Metropolitan University may not exceed a combined total of four years. Applicants with prior TMU LTF appointments should consider this limitation, as it may render them ineligible to apply.

Salary and Governance

This position falls under the jurisdiction of the Toronto Metropolitan Faculty Association (TFA) www.tfanet.ca. Visit www.torontomu.ca/faculty-affairs to view the TFA collective agreement and a summary.

The minimum salary for the Assistant Professor rank is $103,916.30 per annum. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications.
