CRC/SFB 1739 | Dept. of Internal Medicine I – Cardiology, University Hospital RWTH Aachen
As part of our recently announced call for 11 PhD positions within CRC/SFB 1739, we're highlighting a project investigating how low-grade inflammation in cardiovascular disease disturbs periodontal remodelling via fibrin deposition and neutrophil activation, supervised by Prof. Dr. Katharina Marx-Schütt.
You will work with primary and iPSC-derived PDL cells, coagulation assays, neutrophil isolation and NET formation assays (FACS/immunohistochemistry), transcriptomics/proteomics, and NGS sequencing, validating findings in clinical cardiovascular disease cohorts.
Looking for: MSc in Biology, Biomedicine, Biotechnology, Molecular Medicine, Biochemistry, Bioinformatics, Biomedical Engineering, Dentistry, Medicine, or related field.
