CRC/SFB 1739 | Dept. of Internal Medicine I, University Hospital RWTH Aachen
As part of our recently announced call for 11 PhD positions within CRC/SFB 1739, we're highlighting a project investigating the shared pro-inflammatory mechanisms between heart failure and inflammatory periodontal disease, and their impact on periodontal remodelling and bone loss, supervised by Univ.-Prof. Dr. med. Nikolaus Marx (a group combining basic scientists and practicing cardiologists).
You will conduct animal experiments on heart failure–periodontal remodelling interactions, alongside cell culture, histology, molecular/biochemical analyses (Western blot, real-time PCR), and isolation of primary cells and mitochondria.
Looking for: MSc in Biology, Biomedicine, Biotechnology, Molecular Medicine, Biochemistry, Bioinformatics, Biomedical Engineering, Dentistry, Medicine, or related field. Practical experience in protein chemistry/molecular biology and willingness to conduct mouse experiments required.
