Work assignments
- Participate in the research activities of the Centre of Excellence for Personalised Medicine, investigating genetic variation and population structure in the Estonian population and their relationships with phenotypic variation and disease risk.
Education
PhD in population genetics, human genetics, genomics, bioinformatics, or a related field.
Work experience
- International-level research experience in population genetics, human genomics, or a related field equivalent to at least the volume of one doctoral thesis.
- Experience in bioinformatic analysis of large-scale genomic data.
- Experience with long-read sequencing data is an advantage.
Language skills
Good command of English.
The documents required for applying

- A list of research publications (if necessary, enclosing copies or offprints of more important publications).
- A brief research statement outlining the candidate’s research interests and potential research questions that could be addressed using population-scale long-read whole-genome sequencing data.
- A copy of a document (including its annexes) which shows the candidate to hold the required qualification (with authorized translation into Estonian, English or Russian if the credential is not in Estonian, English, Russian, Finnish, Swedish, French, Italian, Ukrainian and Belarussian languages). A candidate can be required to submit the original or a certified copy of the document (including its annexes) showing the candidate to hold the required qualification. If the candidate has acquired the higher education in question abroad, he or she may be required to submit an assessment issued by the Academic Recognition Information Centre (the Estonian ENIC/NARIC) of his or her qualification in respect of the qualification requirements for the position.
