Offer Description
Our research group investigates the molecular and biochemical mechanisms of aging, as well as the development of age-related metabolic diseases such as type 2 diabetes, obesity, neurodegeneration, and cancer. A particular focus of our research is the role of mitochondrial metabolism and redox-dependent signaling pathways in the regulation of cellular homeostasis, metabolic health, and aging.
By defining the molecular mechanisms that link mitochondrial and redox dysregulation to cellular dysfunction and disease, we aim to identify critical pathways and molecular targets that may be exploited for therapeutic intervention. Our findings will provide a mechanistic foundation for the development of innovative preventive and therapeutic strategies to counteract age-related functional decline and disease.
