Job description: PhD Student (f/m/d) for Computational study of Photo-energy conversion and storage

The Center for Advanced Systems Understanding (CASUS) is a German-Polish research center for data-intensive digital systems research.

The Institute CASUS is looking for a PhD Student (f/m/d) for Computational study of Photo-energy conversion and storage.

Your tasks

Performing DFT, MD, Wannier, Phonon calculations
Collaborating with peers including experimental project partners
Publishing results in academic and peer-reviewed journals
Presenting results at scientific meetings

Your profile

Completed university studies (Master/Diploma) in the field of Chemistry, Physics or related field
Relevant professional experience in the specified area
Good knowledge of electronic structure methods for crystals and 2D materials
Experience with parallel computing paradigms
Good knowledge of numerical methods
Experience with high-performance computing
Strong motivation to work in a collaborative environment
Excellent communication skills in English and in a professional context
