In accordance with the The Competitive Hiring Process Code of Charles University, of the Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové of Charles University announces a selection procedure for the following position with submission deadline September 10, 2026
The position is financed by the project New Technologies for Translational Research in Pharmaceutical Sciences /NETPHARM, Project No.: CZ.02.01.01/00/22_008/0004607, within the Operation Programme Johannes Amos Comenius (OP JAK), P 1: Research and Development, SO 1.1: Developing and enhancing research and innovation capacities and deploying advanced technologies, “This project, No. CZ.02.01.01/00/22_008/0004607: New Technologies for Translational Research in Pharmaceutical Sciences /NETPHARM, is co-financed by the European Union.”
Responsibilities:
- Independent performance of the mathematical and computational research activities in the relevant field.
- Involvement in work for VZ5 (WP5) in a renowned scientific team focused on mathematical and numerical modeling using an in vitro system of primary human hepatocyte spheroids.
- Implementation of mathematical models using appropriate software (Matlab, Python, Julia,…).
- Fitting of the mathematical models to experimental data using appropriate methods (e.g., Bayesian inference).
- Presentation and publication of the achieved results on an international level.
- Involvement in the preparation of related national and international projects.
- Participation in key project activities with an emphasis on application potential.
The estimated monthly wage: 47 250 CZK (1.0 FTE) The start of work: 1 October 2026, or can be negotiated Type of employment contract: for 1 year, with the expectation that the contract will be extended until 29 February 2028. Employment: part-time (0.25 FTE)

Qualifications
Profile:
- Education in bioinformatics / computational biology / mathematics or related field.
- Experience with methods of parameter estimation for ordinary differential equation (ODE) models.
- Experience with implementation of ODE models in computational software and fitting them to data.
- The advantage is experience with bioinformatic analysis of sequence data.
- Letter of recommendation from an expert in the field.
- Active knowledge of English language.
