Physical Facilities Manager

Essential Duties

• Supervises staff; reviews schedules to ensure adequate staffing at all times; enforces University policies and procedures; monitors and evaluates performance; recommends any necessary disciplinary action.
• Oversees operations of unit; set priorities; develops and implements operational plans; establishes policies and procedures.
• Reviews completed jobs; ensures that any necessary changes or corrections are made.
• Initiates the purchasing of parts and supplies for unit; researches cost and availability of items; ensures that an adequate inventory of parts and supplies is maintained.
• Assists in preparing estimates for yearly staffing, materials, and equipment requirements.
• Ensures that facility meets appropriate safety standards.

Minimum Qualifications

Requires an Associate's degree in technical field, or the equivalence in coursework and training, and five years of technical experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Requires driver's license. An Engineer's License may be required in some cases.

• Ability to read and understand blueprints and mechanical diagrams

Additional Position Information

This position is a manager position in PFD, which will make it a SATSS position. It is not an AFSCME position, and therefore not covered under the AFSCME union contract.
