Description

Provides assistance in the PTA Skills Lab and other areas as necessary. Assists with maintaining inventory, laundry, cleaning lab, administrative support, and other miscellaneous duties during peak periods as needed. The work schedule and location is to be determined by the PTA Program Director each semester, with the lab assistant's input. The number of hours will be determined based upon the semester's schedule and fiscal budget.

Examples of Duties

1. Monitoring and maintaining inventory of lab supplies, textbooks, videos and equipment.
2. Maintain laboratories in compliance with CAPTE regulations, as well as PTA Program policies and standards.
3. Assists with ordering lab supplies, as needed.
4. Cleans lab equipment, tables, and sinks on a regularly scheduled basis.
5. Performs laundry and associated tasks, such as folding, restocking, and organizing in patient simulation areas.
6. Assists with the preparation and take down of supplies and equipment for lab activities that occur during scheduled work hours and ensuring supplies and equipment are easily accessible for instructors at other times.
7. Monitors PTA lab policies to ensure student safety in lab areas.
8. Actively supports the development and implementation of departmental objectives, policies, procedures and standards; provides feedback on recommended changes to departmental procedures as necessary to improve the efficacy of the department.
9. Supports and serves as a role model for our mission, vision, values, and customer service initiatives. Adheres to the organization's policies & procedures, and compliance guidelines.
10. Performs other duties as assigned.

Typical Qualifications

Education, Certification, Licensure:

• High school diploma or GED.
• Attending post-secondary education required.

Experience:

• Previous experience in a laboratory environment preferred.
• Previous work experience in a community college environment preferred.
• Previous experience working with adult students preferred.
