Physical Therapist I
Position Summary
The Physical Therapist will assess patient condition and administer treatments as prescribed by physicians, providing rehabilitation services to patients.
Job duties:
- Evaluates and documents findings and prepares and implements treatment plans and therapeutic modalities for patients referred by physicians for rehabilitation.
- Records evaluations, daily progress notes and discharge notes in order to provide complete documentation for patient charts.
- Communicates patient progress to referring physician.
- Schedules patient visits and follows billing procedures for services provided.
- Develops and upgrades exercise programs.
- Communicates with members of the health care team in order to facilitate treatment, discuss the plan of care, seek advisement for desired treatments, and receive feedback on performance.
- Assists with staff development.
- Maintains the cleanliness of the environment.
- Performs other duties, as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in Physical Therapy; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in providing physical therapy treatments; requires orthopedic experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience; and possession of a valid State of Michigan Physical Therapy license.
Desired Qualifications
Manual therapy, Kinesio Taping Method, McConnell Taping Method, IASTM, Blood flow restriction, Other specializations.

Work hours vary as necessary to accommodate clinic operations.
Summary of Physical Demands
The job requires significant physical effort and involves performing stretching/resistance exercises for patients, lifting patients from wheel chairs, moving equipment and demonstrating exercises 26 to 75% of the time.
Summary of Health Risks
Exposure to human blood, serum, and other body fluids; and materials covered under Universal Precautions; TB risk or work within three (3) feet of patients in a health care setting; wear a respirator.
