The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse Physician Assistant (PA) Program, in partnership with Gundersen Medical Foundation, Mayo Clinic School of Health Sciences, and Marshfield Clinic Health System, invites interested physician assistants to apply for the position of half-time 9-month Clinical Assistant or Clinical Associate Professor. This Instructional Academic Staff position is eligible for career progression.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop, review, and revise as necessary the mission statement, goals and competencies of the program
- Provide medically informative, contemporary classroom instruction as an independent course director and a peer lecturer, as determined by the needs of the program and the applicant’s educational and experiential qualifications
- Participate in student recruitment, selection, and admission to the program
- Proactively monitor program-wide student learning, performance, and remediation
- Compassionately advise and mentor students through a rigorous academic process
- Participate in the program’s alignment and maintenance of accreditation
- Design, implement, coordinate, and evaluate the program
- Engage positively as vital member of the PA Program team
- Maintain the educational and experiential qualifications to perform assigned duties

Required Qualifications
- An earned master’s degree or higher in PA studies (or equivalent)
- Current or emeritus NCCPA certification
- Eligibility for Wisconsin licensure (actual licensure is not required)
- One-year of clinical practice experience as a PA
- Evidence of knowledge of the current PA Profession practice environment
- Evidence of skill in computer applications necessary for instruction and communication
- Evidence of excellent interpersonal and communication ability
- Ability to give and receive feedback to and from peers and students
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and effectively manage time
Preferred Qualifications
- More than 1-year of clinical experience as a Physician Assistant or Physician, at the time of hire
- Prior clinical or higher education teaching experience
