Physician Assistant (Fellowship)
Job Summary
NOTE: This posting is for the Year 1 of a 2-year Fellowship Training Program within the Interventional Radiology Department. Advancement to Year 2 is contingent upon successful completion of Year 1.
This program is currently looking to fill 1 opening for an APC/APP position for someone who is interested in developing and expanding their medical expertise on top of their license(s). This would be filled by either a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
Fellowship Summary
This immersive fellowship provides structured clinical training, progressive procedural experience, and comprehensive didactic education aligned with the Society of Interventional Radiology (SIR) APP Core Curriculum. Fellows work closely with experienced interventional radiologists and APC/APPs to develop expertise in image-guided procedures, peri-procedural patient management, and complex clinical decision-making.
Year 1 focuses on foundational IR skills through core clinical rotations, supervised procedural training, and structured didactics. In Year 2, fellows transition into an Instructor-level role with greater clinical independence.
Graduates receive a certificate from the University of Utah School of Medicine and are prepared to practice independently as Interventional Radiology APC/APPs.
Appointment & Benefits
- Year 1: IR APC/APP Fellows receive a salary of $85,000 with full fellowship benefits.
- Year 2: IR APC/APP Instructors receive compensation per the APC/APP salary grid.
Responsibilities
Year 1 includes clinical training on the Core IR Service, required rotations in ICUs (4 weeks total), call shifts, didactic curriculum, journal club, case conferences, and scholarly activities.
Year 2 includes independent consult management, credentialed procedures, teaching responsibilities, and up to six elective rotations.
Minimum Qualifications
Required: Current licensure to practice as a Physician Assistant from the State of Utah. Current RQI Healthcare Provider eCredential.
Preferred: Certification in ACLS/BLS/NRP/ATLS.
Eligibility
Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Master's program. Official transcripts. Licensure in Utah. National board certification. Active BLS/ACLS. Prescriptive authority in Utah.
