Job Summary
The Division of Pediatric Nephrology at the University of Utah School of Medicine is seeking a Physician Assistant to function as a member of the pediatric nephrology team. The team currently consists of 10 providers, 2 nurse practitioners, 1 dietitian and 2 registered nurses. This position will be responsible for delivering professional care to patients in an inpatient setting. As part of the patient care team, this position is responsible for providing optimal patient care through effective clinical practice; education of the patient, patient's family, clinical staff, and others; consultation with other healthcare providers; and maintain current knowledge regarding options for optimal patient care and outcomes.

Responsibilities
Essential Functions include assessing patient conditions, formulating medical plans, consulting with physicians, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, assisting with dialysis and biopsies, maintaining medical records, participating in quality improvement, counseling patients, and providing general nephrology care in outpatient settings.
Minimum Qualifications
Required: Current licensure to practice as a Physician Assistant from the State of Utah. Current RQI Healthcare Provider eCredential.
Preferred: Certification in ACLS/BLS/NRP/ATLS.
Department Preferences: Pediatric Nephrology experience.
