Physician Specialist
Position Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Physician Specialist for the department of Emergency Medicine at the New Jersey Medical School.
The Department of Emergency Medicine is seeking a Physician Specialist to gain expertise and leadership in the application, education, research, and administration of Emergency Ultrasound.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
- Assumes clinical responsibility for all patients under his/her medical care in the ED.
- Fulfills clinical and administrative services as required to ensure timely, safe, and standard-of-care treatment of ED patients, including adherence to policies and procedures of University Hospital, the Department of Emergency Medicine, and all state and federal regulatory organizations impacting the institution.
- Participates in formal resident, medical student, and faculty education as assigned by the ED Chair and/or Fellowship Director.
- Keeps abreast of all pertinent federal, state and Rutgers' regulations, laws and policies as they presently exist and as they change or are modified.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Education and Experience
- Medical degree (MD/DO).
- Graduated in good standing from an accredited PGY1-4 Emergency Medicine residency.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Physical Demands: Standing, sitting, walking, talking and hearing. No special vision requirements. Lifting up to 25 lbs.
- Work Environment: Clinical environment. Moderate noise.
