The Department of Physics & Engineering Science in the Gupta College of Science at Coastal Carolina University (https://www.coastal.edu/phys/aboutthedepartment/) invites applications for a Physics and Engineering Lab manager position beginning August 2025. The Physics and Engineering Lab Manager oversees the daily operations of the teaching laboratories within the Applied Physics and Physics Education programs as well as supports laboratories for the Engineering program as needed.

Duties include, but not limited to: Overseeing operation and maintenance of the lab prep areas. Ensure that all equipment needed to perform the scheduled labs are prepared and setup before lab time for each lab class. Ensure that all materials needed to perform the scheduled labs are prepared and set up before lab time for each physics lab class. Maintain inventory and order consumables to replenish stock. Assist with training new undergraduate learning assistants and tutors.
Required Qualifications: Bachelor of Physics or related field. One (1) year of laboratory management experience.
Preferred Qualifications: Basic lab skills; safety procedures; database establishment and maintenance.

Time-limited position with benefits. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Normal work days and hours vary. The position will serve 37.5 hours/week. Must be flexible to meet the special scheduling needs of the university.
