About the role
Undergraduate and Postgraduate students have the option of taking a one year work placement in industry as part of their degree. You will play a vital role in maintaining strong professional relationships with current placement providers in an industry facing role whilst also proactively sourcing and developing opportunities to generate new placements. About you
With excellent organisational skills, you will demonstrate a good use of initiative and have the ability to multi-task and prioritise a high workload.
Attention to detail and good administrative record keeping are essential. We work together as a team to achieve overall results and you will need to be a good team player.
An interest in learning about and working with engineering fields and industries would be beneficial. Placement Officers host companies on campus as well as visit them on site to promote the placement scheme so you will need strong interpersonal skills. You will display skills in mentoring or training young people as Placement Officers provide support to students 1-1, in small groups and in large lectures.
This is a rewarding role supporting high achieving students at the start of their engineering careers. Training and support will be given in all aspects of the role and for future career development. Learn more about our Faculty and its programmes here.
