This title is part of the New York Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Statewide Program (NY HELPS). For the duration of the NY HELPS Program, this title may be filled via a non-competitive appointment. At a future date, it is expected employees hired under NY HELPS will have their status converted to competitive.

Non-Competitive Minimum Qualifications include options such as graduation from a heating, HVAC apprenticeship program, or possession of specific military or maritime certifications, or relevant degrees, or one year of hands-on experience.

Competitive Minimum Qualifications require a reachable score on the relevant exam list or current NYS employment in a qualifying title.

Preferred Qualifications: Valid NYS Driver's License required; candidates expected to be qualified to use negative pressure respirators.
