Āu Mahi | What You Will Do
You're a technically skilled and solutions-focused engineer who thrives on improving systems, streamlining processes, and enabling better digital experiences. With deep knowledge of infrastructure, platforms, and cloud ecosystems, you're someone who enjoys solving complex technical challenges and pioneering new ideas. You bring both strategic thinking and hands-on expertise to your work—whether you're designing efficient, scalable solutions, educating colleagues on best practices, or ensuring platforms are secure, reliable, and future-ready. Mōu | Who You Are
You will be an experienced Platform Engineer with at least 6 years' experience supporting and optimising complex application ecosystems across on-premises, cloud, and SaaS environments. You will have a bachelor's degree in computer science or related discipline (NZQA Level 7) and bring:
- Proven experience administering, integrating, and improving enterprise-scale platforms in domains such as Learning and Teaching, Scheduling, and Academic Quality.
- Proven experience in leading initiatives from conception to completion.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with proven experience in working collaboratively with product managers, developers, and support teams to deliver reliable, secure, and scalable services.
- Strong technical skills in application and platform administration, virtual/cloud infrastructure, networking fundamentals, and system integrations.
- Practical experience with cloud-based and on-premises platform administration, including identity integration (e.g., SSO, SAML, Azure AD) and database systems.
- Good knowledge of cloud-based security (Azure & AWS, SaaS & PaaS) and automated monitoring tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Development or programming skills (e.g., scripting, automation, integration development) are beneficial.
- Linux terminal/command-line proficiency is beneficial for scripting, automation, and troubleshooting.
