The Opportunity | Te Whiwhinga mahi

We are seeking a motivated Platform Support Consultant to join our Platform Support team. This role is ideal for someone early in their career who has foundational experience in cloud and infrastructure technologies and is eager to further develop their skills in enterprise platforms and High Performance Computing (HPC) environments. The successful candidate will support day-to-day platform operations, assist with automation and infrastructure tasks, and contribute to upcoming infrastructure initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide operational support for enterprise platforms and infrastructure services.
  • Assist with the administration and support of Microsoft 365 environments.
  • Support Windows and Linux server environments, including monitoring, troubleshooting, and routine maintenance.
  • Contribute to infrastructure automation using scripting and Infrastructure-as-Code tools. Develop and maintain scripts using PowerShell, Bash, and similar tools.
  • Support infrastructure provisioning and configuration using Terraform and related automation frameworks. Participate in platform deployment, system patching, and upgrade activities.
  • Assist with the implementation and support of future High Performance Computing initiatives.
  • Perform occasional data centre tasks, including hardware installation, cabling, and server setup when required. Work collaboratively with senior engineers and consultants to resolve issues and improve platform reliability.
  • Document procedures, configurations, and operational processes.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Practical experience supporting or administering Microsoft 365 environments.
  • Basic understanding of Windows Server and Linux operating systems.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages such as PowerShell and Bash. Exposure to Terraform or other Infrastructure-as-Code tools is desirable. Understanding of fundamental networking, system administration, and troubleshooting concepts.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Preferred (but not required)
  • Exposure to cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services.
  • Experience with automation, CI/CD pipelines, or configuration management tools.
  • Interest in or academic exposure to High Performance Computing environments.
  • Relevant certifications such as O365 (Microsoft 365 Certified) or Azure certifications (e.g., Azure Administrator Associate, Azure Fundamentals) will be highly regarded.

Salary Ranges | Ngā Utu: $93,900 - $114,000 per annum, commensurate with the skills and experience of the successful candidate.
