Plumber
The Opportunity
The Plumber is responsible for the safe and efficient operation, maintenance, and repair of campus plumbing systems and related equipment. This role supports the Prescott Arizona Campus by maintaining all university plumbing infrastructure to ensure safe, sanitary, and reliable operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain the Prescott Campus swimming pool and related plumbing equipment.
- Perform maintenance within the pool building, including ordering supplies and maintaining proper pool water chemistry in compliance with sanitary standards.
- Service, maintain, repair, and replace university plumbing systems, fixtures, and equipment, including lift stations and backflow prevention devices.
- Perform preventive maintenance and respond to assigned work orders across campus facilities.
- Ensure safe handling and use of chemicals, tools, and equipment in accordance with applicable safety regulations and standards.
- Maintain accurate records and notify supervision of any plumbing issues requiring attention.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Compensation
The hourly range for this position is $22.00 to $25.00.
Qualifications
Required Education and Qualifications: High school diploma or GED with proficiency in grammar, spelling, basic composition, and mathematics.
Required Licenses, Certifications, and/or Clearances: Valid driver’s license. Plumber license or equivalent experience preferred.
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: Knowledge of plumbing systems, water heating systems, potable water distribution, drainage systems, lift stations, and backflow prevention devices. Ability to read blueprints, follow schematics, perform calculations, and maintain records. Experience using hand and power tools safely and effectively. Understanding of chemical handling and safety practices related to plumbing and pool operations. Ability to work independently and follow written and verbal instructions.
Required Experience: Five to ten years of related plumbing, mechanical, or maintenance experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Physical Requirements: Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting objects greater than 25 pounds, standing, walking, bending, climbing, and working in confined or outdoor environments.
